Diagnostic Services

All of our diagnostic testing become a part of your electronic medical record.

General X-Ray:

An X-ray uses electromagnetic radiation to make images of your bones, teeth and internal organs. A radiologist reads the pictures of the inside of your body and sends a report to your primary care physician.
(717) 485-6107 Option #1

Dexascan:
Measures bone density, which is directly related to bone strength and is used to predict the potential for fracture and osteoporosis.
(717) 485-6107 Option #1

MRI, CT:
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a way of getting pictures of various parts of your body without the use of radiation. An MRI scanner consists of a large and very strong magnet in which the patient lies.Signals are sent to and received back from the body. These returning signals are converted into pictures by a computer attached to the scanner. Pictures of almost any part of your body can be obtained from virtualy any particular angle.
(717) 485-6107 Option #1

FCMC has a 64 slice CT (Computed tomography)scanner that is used to generate a three dimensional image of the inside of your body. (717) 485-6107 Option #1

Nuclear Medicine:
Nuclear medicine procedures use pharmaceuticals called radiopharmaceuticals. In diagnosis, radioactive substances are administered to patients and the radiation emitted is detected. The diagnostic tests involve the formation of an image using a camera.
(717) 485-6107 Option #1

Mammography:
Mammography is a specific type of imaging that uses a low dose x-ray system to examine breasts. A mammography exam, called a mammogram, is used to aid in the diagnosis of breast diseases in women. Our digital mammography system allows radiologists to read images online without films.
(717) 485-6107 Option #1

The Community Relations and Development department works alongside the PA Department of Health and other agencies to help tobacco users quit. Through various programs and health fairs the department promotes a healthy life style.

They perform this task by:

  • going into local schools and educating children on the effects of smoking through programs like BUSTED and TATTOO
  • holding group therapy sessions
  • one on one teaching in an inpatient or outpatient setting

Call today to start your quit day. (717) 485-6853 or email our Community Educator Lori Bubb.
