Manager, Emergency Department
As a Level IV Trauma Center, FCMC’s Emergency Department must be continuously prepared to treat the most serious life-threatening and disabling injuries. For this reason, we are seeking an experienced manager to lead the ER Care Delivery Team in providing high quality care to patients with unpredictable health care needs.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Supervises and role models the nursing process to assist staff in providing patient care appropriate to the needs of patient populations.
• Plans, leads, coordinates, and evaluates patient care activities to include staffing, resource management, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
• Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of FCMC’s mission, vision, and core values.
• Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
• Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
• Collects and analyzes quality data and applies process improvement methodology to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care.
• Drives improvement activities that promote patient safety, patient centered care, and positive customer experience.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Advocates for patient, family, department, and organizational needs.
• In partnership with the trauma manager and clinical educator, identifies, plans, and implements educational and training programs to ensure evidence based clinical care is being delivered.
• Promotes a culture of high employee engagement and professional development.
Education/Experience: BSN required; MSN preferred. Registered nurse with ten (10) or more years of nursing experience; minimum of one (1) year experience in emergency medicine. Preference given to candidates possessing progressive leadership experience.
