What is “planned giving” or “estate planning” all about?
It’s really just a way to leave money to charities and heirs. Many people start to think about how to leave their mark in the world after they are gone. You may be thinking the same now that you and/or your children are getting older.
But I don’t have anything….
You would be surprised what you will be leaving behind. Simple estates with a house, a car, a couple bank accounts, a few investments, life insurance and possessions can range into many hundreds of thousands of dollars. That can mean not only leaving something for your heirs, but leaving behind a legacy for charitable causes. What has been important to you and your family throughout your life? We hope one of the things is the care you received at Fulton County Medical Center. Maybe you would like to leave a gift that can give perpetually to the scholarship fund. Such a gift helps ensure Fulton County will have healthcare professionals well into the future. So, you really are still giving to your family – but also to your friends and neighbors.
So read on… The following pages have only a few options, but please note: These things are not products that the FCMC Foundation “sells” to you, and we in no way are offering financial advice – a financial advisor and not the medical center will set these options up for you. And, maybe most importantly, there are ways in which you can make a charitable gift INSTEAD of giving the money away to the government in the form of taxes!
